What are the benefits of karate for children?

My little brother is going to join a karate club soon and he wants to know the benefits of doing it so he knows he’ll get something out of it. He’s nearly 9, btw.

A good choise I say. A lot of excercise and discipline is learned through Karate. As well as this he would learn self defence. When he’s older he will apreciate the strength he would’ve received by starting karate at a young age. My favourite is after about 4-5 years he will have gained enough strength that he can teach himself to do backflips, front flips etc.

Self Defence – people won’t pick on him if he knows karate
Fitness- Very good for muscle strength, especially in the legs and cardiovascular system
Confidence- Being around adult trainers and kids the same age and older will make him more confident as a person.
    etc etc

Beating people up, I love to beat people up and then make them drink my pee after I beat them up.

I’ve been doing karate since I was 5, am 17 now. The biggest thing for me is that it’s taught me how to focus, which I can apply everywhere. At school I can just flick it on like a switch, very useful. Also perseverance and of course training physically and mentally. Indirect benefits – never get into fights because of rep, confidence, respect, and good morals. Pride and honour. Basically a good foundation for life. I’ve never regretted it.

When they pick on other kids they won’t have to limit themselves to the smaller, weaker ones.

It will really depend on the school and the teacher. But generally, karate classes will help with discipline and conditioning (physical, mental and spiritual).
He should also learn better coordination, balance, and other such physical benefits.

    Good luck!
